Gibson Memorial Public Library

The Gibson Memorial Public Library will begin their Used Children's Book Sale Tuesday July 13th at 10am. The sale will be held during regular library hours and will end  Saturday August 21st. Money from the sale will be used to purchase new materials for the library. The library is located at 200 West Howard Street in Creston. Library hours are Monday and Wednesday 10am to 8pm, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 10am to 6pm. Saturday 10am to 3pm.

Salem Court Activities

Indianaola Summer Entertainment at Salem Court on The Square is the first Thursday at Noon at third Thursday at 7pm. On Thursday August 5th at noon, Ron Burchette of the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will be entertaining the crowd with songs we all remember. Come join the fun and the free popcorn.

The Blood Pressure Clinics normally held at the Community Building in Nodaway on the 3rd Thursday of the month have been discontinued until further notice.

Childhood Immunization Clinics

Alegent Health at Home will hold the following Childhood Immunization Clinics:

Tuesday July 27th: 3:30- 6pm

Rural Iowa Crisis Center

Effective July 1, 2010 there will be a change in the program designated by the Department of Justice to provide services to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse in Clarke and Decatur Counties. The Rural Iowa Crisis Center, which has provided these services since 2001, will cease to operate in Clarke and Decatur Counties.

Crisis Intervention and Advocacy Center will serve Clarke and Decatur Counties beginning July 1st. Crisis Intervention and Advocacy Center provides safe shelter, counseling and court support ad advocacy. Their toll-free hotline number is 1-800-400-4884. All services are free and confidential.
